The idea behind the seminar system is to familiarize students more extensively with the methodology of their chosen subject and also to allow them to interact with examples of the practical problems that always occur during research work.

The International Year of Chemistry 2011 (IYC 2011) is a worldwide celebration of the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to the well-being of humankind. Under the unifying theme "Chemistry—our life, our future," we will be celebrating the year with a range of interactive, entertaining, and educational activities for all ages.
In this light, we organized a seminar on "International Water Day". We celebrated "International Water Day" to court the attention towards the present enigmatic condition of water that is being polluted fanatically & this polluted water is the root cause of several health problems. The international observance of World Water Day is an initiative that grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro. The speakers stated their concern about the current water problems quite emphatically & stirred many keen souls to give a stark thought to this gargantuan problem.
There was also a poster competition on the theme of the seminar.
